Rachel Martinez

Hi, my name is Rachel and I am a Denver, CO native. I have a B.A. with Honors in K-12 Art Education with an emphasis in Painting and a M.A. in Teaching Diverse Learners. I love traveling the world to explore new places, cultures, and of course the art that other countries have to offer. In my free time, when I am not painting, I like to hike, camp, read, exercise, and go to music festivals.

I have been passionately painting for many years. My paintings are a representation of a snapshot in time both emotionally and physically. I do not rework paintings once I am finished because I feel that I can not truly get back into the mental space I was in when I first started the painting. I have always been interested in color. My paintings have dynamic color palettes that show the relationship between different colors on the canvas. I find that by using a variety of colors, I am able to create dimension in my work. I value the process of painting and find that I let my paints dictate what the finished product will look like. I am very excited to begin this journey of sharing my paintings with others and I appreciate your support!
